Nestlé, looking to capitalize on the expanding demand for coffee in Asian countries, opened its new Nescafé Dolce Gusto capsule production line in Dong Nai Province, Vietnam. Operations began in late July.
The company expects to process about 2,500 tons of coffee per year – 130 million capsules – using Vietnam’s beans. Volume is expected to increase over time, the company said in a statement.
About 90% of the Nescafé Dolce Gusto production from the Dong Nai facility will be exported to other Asian markets including Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Indonesia.
