Loring unveiled a new smaller capacity roaster to meet the growing demand for coffee shop and retail roasters.
The S7 Nighthawk is a seven-kilo capacity machine that fits into 21.5 square feet (2 square meters). Gordon Tredger, newly named president of Loring Smart Roast, said “the Loring S7 Nighthawk makes the advantages of our Loring roasters available to a new segment of the coffee roasting market.”
The machine offers the same precise control and energy efficiency that are valued by Loring customers around the world “in a new, compact form factor.”
The S7 will micro-roast quantities as small as 1.4 kilos with lower emissions and the ability to accurately repeated across batch sizes, and even from one sized roaster to another, empowering businesses as they scale.
According to a release, the roaster’s touchscreen and software that can be used for manual roasting, or to run roast profiles that automatically control temperature, charging the roast chamber, and discharge to the cooler tray. No details were provided on price and availability, but the S7 will be on display at the Specialty Coffee Association event in April.
