Korean-based Coreshtech Co. produces a range of industrial mesh products including biodegradable teabag and coffee filter material as well as machines used to form, fill, seal, and pack tea.
“Coreshtech practices green business, demonstrating concern for the health of customers drinking tea,” according to the company, which uses PLA (plant-based) plastics in the manufacture of its pyramid-shaped ultrasonic-sealable teabags.

Founded in 2005, the factory in Daegu produces “a transparent 3D pyramid that can be distinguished by the luxurious appearance of the tea enclosed.”
In its online literature, the company states that constant technological innovation has led to highly permeable mesh that results in “deeper and richer taste and scent than existing tea bags. Materials comply with US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) standards; Germany’s LFGB [German Food & Commodities Law] safe material standards and are certified by KAFRI, the [Korean Advanced Food Research Institute] as completely safe.”
“The PLA mesh consists of 100% natural fibers so when it is buried under the ground it can become biodegradable within one year,” according to the company.
