At the 12th African Fine Coffee Conference and Exhibition, the African Fine Coffees Association Coffee Institute is hosting a program of workshops. The workshops will provide in-depth insights into export procedures. Topics include “What You Need to Know About Coffee Contracts” by David Barry, managing director of Kyagalanyi Coffee Ltd. and John Schluter, founder of Schluter Coffee Co.; and “Dealing with International Markets” by Judith Ganes, founder and president of J. Ganes Consulting, LLC and Robert Nsibirwa, founder and chief executive officer of the Africa Coffee Academy.
Hundreds of farmers and producer organization representatives are expected to attend. In addition to access to more than 100 exhibitors, attendees will hear presentations from world renowned leaders in the specialty coffee industry, including Abdullah Bagersh, managing director of SA Bagersh, one of the leading coffee exporters from Ethiopia; Julianne Kayonga, country manager for the Rwanda Starbucks Farmer Support Center; Juergen Kuesters, senior scientist at Yara Research; Duncan Pollard, a.v.p. stakeholders engagement in sustainability, Nestlé; and Tony Sala, business development officer at ACM Perú.
The event takes place at the Safari Park Hotel and casino in Nairobi, Kenya from Feb. 12-14, 2015.
