Coffee exports are expected to increase to a record 4 million 60-kilogram bags in the fiscal year 2019-20 as yields improve and more land is set aside for coffee cultivation.
Projections already call for production to increase 1.4% during 2018-19 and half of all production is exported. Another .5% growth the following year would push that total to a record level, according to the United States Department of Agriculture’s attaché in Addis Ababa.
Coffee remains Ethiopia’s No. 1 export.
