China
In December, the Hemro Group announced a new strategic partnership with the Chinese coffee grinder manufacturer HeyCafé. The release cited a recognition that Asia is one of the fastest growing for markets for coffee, and that with that growth consumers are increasingly demanding “reliable appliances” for specialty coffee.
“Looking back on 10 years of our sales representation in Asia, the time has now come to take the next step and to get even closer to the emerging markets and to our customers,” said Philipp Baumberger, c.e.o. of the Hemro Group. “With our strategic partnership we support entrepreneurship and the spirit of innovation of Chinese companies like HeyCafé and we contribute to their continuing growth.”
Ilan Maimon, founder and c.e.o. of HeyCafé, will continue to work as general manager. He said, “We share the same vision and we strive to turn the factory in Changzhou to one of the best factories for grinding solutions outside of Europe.”
The strategic partnership will result in production of grinders for emerging markets in Asia.
