Probat Inc. has acquired Canada-based ED Industrial Ltd. and ED Industrial USA, Inc.
ED Industrial Ltd. and ED Industrial USA Inc. are millwrighting and heavy steel fabrication companies specializing in coffee processing as well as in building products, metal refineries, recycling, aggregates, concrete, bulk material handling and more.
Probat Inc. is a subsidiary of Probat Group, a recognized international name in the coffee equipment industry. Probat Inc., headquartered in Illinois, provides North American coffee companies with roasters, grinders, coffee process equipment and controls.
The acquisition expands Probat’s ability to provide plant installation services and equipment repair & maintenance, according to the company.
“Acquiring EDI opens up new prospects for Probat Inc. to grow our service business in coffee and non-coffee industries throughout North America,” Probat Inc. president John Fortin said in a statement. “The acquisition of EDI gives Probat the opportunity to offer full turnkey solutions made up of equipment sales, plant installation service and post-sales equipment service support to our customer base in North America.”
