In an effort to become more environmentally friendly, STA Impianti has removed the ceramic fiber from its heat-resistant steel coffee roasters.
The Bologna, Italy-based company has long emphasized energy efficiency, and this new move provides further energy savings of 20-25% over most machines on the market, in addition to reducing potentially harmful residues that ceramic fiber can leave behind when used as insulation for combustion chambers. The new technology also improves operator control over the roasting process, resulting in higher-quality roasted coffee from an organoleptic perspective.
The company’s hardware innovations are complemented by software updates that allow full customization of the roasting machines’ parameters and the deployment of specific interfaces for plant management, allowing for the automatic tracking and creation of production batches, inventory tracking, and remote, real-time management of the roasting plant for better production efficiencies and a higher-quality product.
