Cimbria recently launched its latest evolution of the Sea Chromex one of a line of full-color RGB sorters for roasted and green robusta and arabica beans.
The newest model offers 0.06 mm optical resolution with the ability to sort the slightest differences in color, shade, and shape and combine real full-color technology with NIR and InGaAs inspection systems.
Besides the detection of color defects (immature, moldy, discolored, insect-damaged beans) the infrared cameras detect similarly colored foreign bodies such as stones, sticks, bone fragments, glass, and plastic. The shape sizing function detect elements by area, perimeter, eccentricity, and angularity. A new Exagon interface offers a customizable homepage with widgets for easy programming making it possible to use the same sorting recipe on multiple units.
Sea Chromex represents state-of-the-art optical sorting technology to match the increasingly stringent requirements of coffee, ensuring that safety and quality requirements are met.
