Probat has launched a new convection-style Sample Roaster that can quickly produce a batch of green coffee up to 200 grams in size for evaluation.
An electrically power unit pushes hot air through the machine’s roasting drum while shovel blades keep the beans circulating, according to the company. An LCD screen displays time and temperature readings.
The Sample Roaster is designed to handle batch sizes 150 to 200 grams in size. Roasting times can range from three to 20 minutes. In addition, Probat cites benefits including homogeneous bean appearance due to convective heat transfer, an adjustable heating system providing user control, easy transfer of roasting results, simultaneous roasting and cooling, the ability to connect two roasters to one cyclone, and a stainless steel and food-safe acrylic stone design.
