JAPAN
As Japanese teas become more and more popular, Kyoto Obubu Tea Farms is returning to Europe to run a program of tasting events in London, the Cotswolds, Oxford, Madrid, Barcelona, The Hague, Amsterdam, Milan, Dusseldorf and Metz in September and October.
Events include presentations about Japanese tea culture; how Japanese tea is grown and processed and why Japanese tea tastes the way it does; matcha and sencha workshops, tea tastings of genmaicha, sencha, hojicha, matcha, etc; tea masterclasses; and sessions on correct brewing.
Obubu sells high quality Japanese teas grown in the Wazuka district of Kyoto. Obubu is run in the same way as a not-for-profit organization and donates money to several charities in Kyoto to help develop communities locally and globally. The company’s aim is to revitalize the tea industry in Wazuka, Japan and to educate consumers about Japanese tea and tea culture.
