By Dan Shryock
The Specialty Coffee Association’s annual Expo has been postponed until September 2021, c.e.o. Yannis Apostolopoulos announced in a statement.
The event, already canceled for 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic, was originally set for April 2021 in New Orleans. It now is expected to take place Sept. 30-Oct. 3 in New Orleans.
“We’re sure this will be disappointing to many, however the [board of directors’] consensus was that a postponement to the fall would be a safer, more prudent option, and allow our community and participating businesses more time to recover from the pandemic,” Apostolopoulos said. The Specialty Coffee Expo, which attracts more than 14,000 attendees and more than 500 exhibitors, will include a Launch Party on Sept. 30 followed by the exhibition, educational programs and competitions Oct. 1-3.
Registered exhibitors and attendees will receive information via email about the date change. If an email does not arrive, attendees are encouraged to contact Brittney Kushi at BrittneyK@sca.coffee. Exhibitor should send email to exhibit@sca.coffee.
