Luigi Morello, the export director at Gruppo Cimballi, won the lifetime achievement award in Copenhagen, at the eighth European Coffee Symposium. Morello’s career has spanned more than 25 years, during which he has served as a director in the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe and as director of the Italian National Espresso Institute.
Nuova Simonelli took top place in the category of Best Equipment Supplier. Attending on behalf of Nuova Simonelli were Maurizio Giuli, marketing director, and John Rifles, export area manager.
Allegra Strategies Ltd. selected the nominees who were evaluated by a jury of more than one hundred reviewers. Criteria that guided this process for company categories included strength of the brand, performance, innovation, ethical practice and commitment to the development of the sector.
