The Specialty Coffee Association last week rolled out an online platform to showcase new products in the coffee industry.
The website, called New in Coffee (new.sca.coffee), targets both businesses and consumers as it introduces new products on the coffee supply chain. It is intended, association officials said, to be a “comprehensive resource for everyone in the industry to keep up-to-date” with the new products and innovations in 10 different categories. Each product featured will include a description, photos, video, and company contact information.
The 10 categories include coffee accessories, commercial coffee preparation and serving, commercial cold brew coffee preparation and serving, consumer coffee preparation and serving, open class, roasting equipment and tools, specialty coffee beverage, specialty non-coffee beverage, and technology.
The site launch started with products entered for the 2020 Best New Product competition. The results of that contest were to be revealed during the annual Specialty Coffee Expo but that event was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
