JAPAN
In the last few weeks of 2016, a group of seven tea producers, wholesalers, and members of the Japanese Agriculture Corporation of Kakegawa, visited Milan, Paris, and London to promote the unique teas grown in this notable region of Shizuoka on the southern coast of central Japan. The promotional tour was funded by the City of Kakegawa and organized in each city with the help of local tea specialists.
The events began with a presentation of the Kakegawa region and an explanation of what makes Kakegawa teas unique.
Guests then watched while the Japanese team brewed teas made from the leaves of three different cultivars, and then they sipped a spoonful of each tea in order to assess and appreciate the tea liquors.
