In February Alpha Dominche, designer of the Steampunk brewing machine, unveiled an ambitious retail project at Brooklyn’s waterfront Industry City complex. The Alpha Dominche extraction lab is a 2,000-square-foot café and tea shop that focuses equally on craft-brewed coffee and tea regions, cultivars, brands, roasters, processing methods, and more. The lab will rotate its selection of 10-15 coffee roasters regularly, and up to 50 tea brands will be on offer.
“Three values drive our business: exceptional brew quality, beautiful aesthetics, and unparalleled experience,” said Thomas Perez, c.e.o. of Alpha Dominche. “The extraction lab is a prominent display of these values.”
The lab features teas from Samovar in San Francisco, The 1872 Clipper Tea in Singapore, Good & Proper Tea in London, TQY in Shanghai, and a wide selection of American-based tea companies. Prices range from $3 per cup for house blends to some exceptional teas for $18 per cup.
